“8 Bit-Cornell Box” by Jiawan Liang

For an assignment at AAU, I challenged my graduate students to create their own take on a Cornell box, based on Joseph Cornell’s tiny assemblages. They were tasked with making two boxes: one for the past, and one for the future.

I love the 8‑Bit Cornell box that “Kelvin” Jiawan Liang created.

From Kelvin:

One of my motiongraphic class assignments: Cornell box.
Why did I use 8 bit style to make it? 8 bits is all 80’s memory. I missed that simple happiness in my childhood.

There are 2 parts to have to show, part 1 :past, part 2 : future
I think my past is of fun, Games, basketball, photography and so on.
And my future is “Game Over”, because I become a VFX guy, Lol.

The game asks me : continue or not?

I would say: Yes.
Because I love VFX.
